A little about me, a little about my art.

Hello!

As we step into October, I thought it would be the perfect moment for a little “welcome” - a chance to re-introduce myself to those who’ve been here a while, and to say hello to the many new faces who found me recently (thank you, TikTok, for that little whirlwind!).

A little about me

My name is Charlotte Gurran, and I’m a Fine Artist based in the Lake District, where the mountains, fells, and lakes are both my backdrop and part of my inspiration. I feel endlessly lucky to live and work in such a landscape, where a moment outdoors can be part of the creative process.

I’ve been creating for as long as I can remember - art has always been my greatest love. The ‘recipe’ for my current work first came together during my degree years, and over the past decade I’ve slowly refined it, while keeping hold of that same deep connection between canvas and landscape. Last year, I finally took the leap into becoming a full-time artist - a once-distant dream now made real.

Of course, I’m never alone in the process - my little ‘studio assistant,’ Phoebe, is by my side for every step, from gathering inspiration outdoors to client consultations and painting sessions in the studio

My artwork — two paths

  • Some of my pieces are created and released ready-to-purchase. These artworks often appear on my social media, in these newsletters, or on the gallery page of my website.

  • Alongside those, I love working on bespoke commissions. These are created entirely with you in mind - tailored in size, colour palette, and even in the choice of location where the artwork begins its journey. It’s a way of weaving your own story into the canvas, bringing something truly personal into your home.

A bespoke commission, created for this beautiful, nature-inspired home. Discover more of the space at A Story Of Home

You’ll find my work in my North Lakes studio, as well as in three galleries and showrooms across the Lake District. If you’re ever in the area, I’d love to let you know where pieces are on display at that time

I hope this gives a little insight into my story, and the journey behind the paintings. I’m so delighted you’re here, and I’d love to hear from you anytime - whether it’s a question, an idea, or simply to say hello!

Wishing you an inspiring October,

With warmth,
Charlotte
