At the turn of the year…
Hello,
As the year gently settles into its first days, I wanted to pause and share a few quiet reflections - just for those of you who read these notes from the studio.
2025 was my first full calendar year where start to finish I was working entirely as a full-time artist, and it’s a year I’ll always hold with gratitude. It was busy - busier than I imagined - but more than anything, it was deeply joyful. To spend my days creating, working with care, and watching ideas slowly take shape has felt like a privilege, one I never take for granted.
What has stayed with me most, though, hasn’t just been the work itself. It’s been the people behind it. The conversations while delivering an artwork, chats at The Rheged Centre, messages and emails from clients or an interested onlooker, and the stories shared along the way. Whether you’ve collected a piece, commissioned work, or simply taken the time to reach out, those moments of connection have meant more than I can put into words.
As I look ahead to 2026, I’m not one for rigid goals. I prefer to stay present, keep working steadily, and allow things to unfold in their own time. That said, there are some new chapters quietly forming - a beautiful new showroom partnership, an exhibition with a twist that will bring several new artworks into being, and possibly something a few of you have been asking about for quite some time.
If you’ve supported my work in any way - through a purchase, a commission, a kind message, or by sharing my work with someone you know- thank you. Truly. None of it goes unnoticed, and all of it helps make this way of working possible.
Here’s to a year shaped by painting, meaningful conversations, and many hours wandering the Lake District, gathering inspiration from nature.
I hope 2026 unfolds gently and generously for you.
With warmest wishes,
Charlotte
