Between Winter and Spring…

Hello,

Having left it a little longer than usual between letters, I’m so looking forward to catching up with you.

I hope February has treated you kindly. Are we all quietly longing for spring? I certainly am.

And yet - what a gift some days have been amongst these past winter weeks. The snowy peaks, the crisp air, that particular stillness that only winter brings… there is nothing quite like it.

Misty Cascade’ even joined me for a snowy excursion.

This petite original artwork is currently available.

Since I last wrote, two bespoke commissions have arrived to their forever homes:

‘Familiar Ground’ now lives in Northern Ireland, created to celebrate a 30th birthday - a piece rooted in memory, landscape and belonging.

And ‘United Ascent’ has settled near York, commissioned to mark a marriage - a shared journey captured in paint.

Art never needs a special occasion, but it can become a deeply meaningful way to honour one - something lasting, personal, and woven with feeling.

At the moment, I’m immersed in the planning and early painting stages of a few new bespoke works, and truly loving every second of the process. That said, there will always be time carved out for long walks in the fells. The fresh air, the perspective, the endorphins - they are just as essential to the work as the paint itself.

Alongside the studio work, something long-awaited is finally coming to life in April. An opportunity that has been patiently waiting its moment - and it feels very special that its time has now arrived. I’ll share more with you soon.

Sending you my very best wishes,
And I promise not to leave it quite so long next time.

Charlotte
